Borden's Processing, Inc was officially formed in 2004, but the Borden's history goes back to 1960, when Jim's father purchased the first family farm of 30 acres. Since then, Jim was involved in every aspect of blueberry farming, from working on the family farm as a child, to owning and operating numerous farms alongside his wife Patty. In 1979, Jim and Patty purchased their first farm together, and over the last 25 years, have built the family business to more than 400 acres with processing plants in two different locations.

In 1998, PJ Blueberry Farms was sold to RMD Blueberry Farms, with Jim and Patty staying on as team members to help run the business. In 2004, Jim and Patty purchased the Nelson's Packing facility, along with 133 acres of blueberry plants. At that same time, Jim purchased the RMD processing plant and an additional 105 acres of blueberry plants.

As part of their commitment to packing a safe, high quality product, Borden's has instituted several changes in their food and safety program. This includes - annual outside audits by AIB, annual Kosher certification, and a HACCP program. Borden's Processing, Inc is committed to producing the best quality blueberries possible to satisfy the customer. Today, Borden's Processing owns farms in South Haven, Covert, Hartford and Bangor - with processing plants in both Bangor and Covert. With up to 300 employees a year, Borden's Processing, Inc is now one of the largest blueberry farms in the area.
